Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) is delighted to announce the launch of the ‘Racing to Hunting Challenge’.

To showcase the thoroughbred’s versatility, RoR runs events and series for former racehorses at all levels across a range of equestrian sports. In order to recognise the many former racehorses that retire to the hunting field, in conjunction with The Hunting Office, RoR is launching the ‘Racing to Hunting Challenge’, the winner of which will receive a £2500 prize, with a further £1000 awarded to the winner’s Hunt.

The outright winner will receive a cheque from RoR, the Meriel Tufnell Trophy and a Rye-Dri coat sponsored by Watt to Wear at the prestigious annual RoR Awards held at The Jockey Club Rooms, alongside RoR’s elite winners from other equestrian disciplines.

Hunts are asked to nominate one former racehorse as their candidate in the Challenge, the deadline for nominations is March 31st 2017. The owners of each of the first 30 valid entries will all receive a prize. To qualify the horse must have raced ‘under rules’ in Britain and be registered with RoR. A nomination form has been circulated to all Hunts.
