Series RoR Regional Dressage Horse Championships

A regional championship series which encompasses affiliated and unaffiliated competition, for all RoR eligible horses including raced, foreign raced and those who have been in training and hold current RoR competition membership.

Overview

Eligibility

All RoR Competition registered. Riders must be 15yrs and over at 1st January of current year.

Each RoR Regional Championship event is a qualifier for the RoR National Dressage Championships. New for 2024 Intro to Special levels will be split into two sections, restricted and open.

Qualifying period for Regional Championship events prior to the National Championships: 1st February to the closing date published at entry stage for each individual event.

Qualifiers for National Championships 2024

  • North-East Regional Championships, Highfield House, Sunderland on Sunday 26 May
  • Midlands Regional Championships, Field House Equestrian, Staffordshire on 8 June
  • Welsh Regional Championships, David Broome Centre, Monmouthshire on 12 June
  • North-West Regional Championships, Myerscough College, Lancashire on 15 – 16 June
  • Scottish Regional Championships, Netherton Equestrian, Perthshire on 29 - 30 June
  • South-West Regional Championships, Chard Equestrian, Somerset on 22 June
  • South-East Regional Championships, Codham Park Equestrian, Essex, on 29 – 30 June

Southern Regional Championships (P – M), Blenheim, Oxfordshire on 19 – 20 September - more details to follow.

Regional qualification criteria

To qualify, riders must submit two score sheets for the level at the required minimum percentage or above from affiliated competitions, unaffiliated competitions or both. Score sheets must include the registered racing name of the horse, have full details re date and venue and must be signed by the Judge. The qualification is for horse/rider, no substitutes (horse or rider) allowed. Horse/rider combinations are allowed to compete in two classes so long as they have submitted the relevant qualifying score sheets.

INTRO Championship

  • Restricted (min 63% x 2 to qualify) combinations not to have competed at Prelim level or above nor won any RoR Regional or National Championships at Intro level.
  • Open (min 65% x 2 to qualify) combinations not to have competed at Novice or above.

PRELIM Championship

  • Restricted (min 63% x 2 to qualify) combinations not to have competed at Novice level or above or above nor won any RoR Regional or National Championships at Prelim level.
  • Open (min 65% x 2 to qualify) open to all.

NOVICE Championship

  • Restricted (min 62% x 2 to qualify) combinations not to have competed at Elementary level or above or above nor won any RoR Regional or National Championships at Novice level.
  • Open(min 64% x 2 to qualify) open to all.

ELEMENTARY Championship

  • Restricted (min 60% x 2 to qualify) combinations not to have competed at Medium level or above nor won any RoR Regional or National Championships at Elementary level.
  • Open (min 62% x 2 to qualify) open to all.

MEDIUM Championship

  • Restricted (min 60% x 2 to qualify) combinations not to have competed at Advanced Medium level or above nor won any RoR Regional or National Championships at Medium level.
  • Open (min 62% x 2 to qualify) open to all.

SPECIAL Championship

Useful information

The championship classes will run and be judged under BD rules, they will however, be affiliated to RoR only and no BD grading points will be awarded. All Championships tests bar Intro will be in long arena format.

Combinations can take part in any regional championship but must submit the relevant score sheets for each.

Score sheets from online competitions, PC, BE and FSM are not accepted for qualification for this series.
