My Rock - Native Caption
Native Caption or now known as Donald, is 25 years old, purchased from Doncaster Sales in 2001 and has completely transformed our lives. Both my sister, Tania and I have successfully competed him throughout those 18 years and he is still competing now.
Donald has the most amazing character, when he finishes his dressage test, he holds up his front legs and salutes when I do, which some judges love and others are not so happy.
During my cancer treatment, he was such a gentleman and I was able to ride him round our local farm ride before each of my chemotherapy sessions. This kept me going through a very hard time in my life, all good now though!
The last couple of years we wanted him to take it a little easier, so my partner, Vicki, learnt to ride on him, the plan being to become a happy hacker, however Donald, had as different idea. The pair now regularly compete in dressage competitions and he is teaching her to jump. Vicki and Donald are aiming to win a Show Jumping class at the RoR National Championships.
To us, he really is one in a million, and has given and is still giving us so much fun and pleasure, and we absolutely adore every single bit of him.
RoR is always interested to hear of other success stories so please email us and send a photograph of your own story.
