RoR South East brings you another 'Insight Day'
A chance for a behind the scenes look into the life of a racehorse, it's routine, training, feeding and much more at Roger Varian’s stables. Roger Varian is a multiple Classic-winning racehorse trainer with multiple Group 1 victories to his name. In 2024 alone he won the Group 1 Royal Ascot Queen Anne Stakes, Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes as well as the Group 2 Bet365 Mile at Newbury all with now stallion, Charyn and winning the 1000 Guineas Classic with Elmalka!
Roger has made an immediate impact on his profession since taking over the reins from long-time boss and legendary mentor Michael Jarvis in 2011, saddling over 1,400 winners, including more than 170 Stakes victories across the globe.
Roger also trained double St Ledger winner in Eldar Eldarov who won the 2022 Doncaster St Ledger to then follow on in 2023 to win the Irish St Ledger with Eldar Eldarov, seeing off Kyprios.
He has trained winners in France, Dubai, Canada and Ireland making him an internationally recognised trainer.

Morning: Yard Tour
Explore the training routines seeing the horses on Warren Hill Gallops, then back to the yard to explore feeding regimes, Rogers extensive facilities such as his equine swimming pool and treadmill, followed by welfare and horse longevity strategies that support every horse on the yard.
Afternoon: Retraining Talk with Amy Bannister-Bell (BHSI, RoR Wales RDO)
Gain valuable insights into the retraining process of former racehorses – what’s involved, key challenges, how to maintaingood practices, and where to find support. A great session whether you already own an RoR or are considering taking one on.
