More

Rachel Ashworth is a BHS registered coach and has been around racehorses for a very long time now, working in racing yards for both flat and jump horses as well as in point to point yards. Rachel now has her own yard in Upton, Retford, Nottinghamshire and loves helping former racehorses take on their next careers after racing. The yard is well based for those in the north east of the midlands area and can be reached by good road networks form Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire.

On the day Rachel will run two types of hour long pole sessions in groups of no more than four.

The first type is ridden poles. Riding on the flat and over various combinations of poles to improve technique, balance, suppleness, coordination and confidence for all disciplines.

The second type is in hand poles. In hand pole work is great during any rehabilitation of at any other time to help prevent injury and build strength. Having in hand pole exercises that you and you horse are comfortable with doing correctly are a great 'go to'solution when you are are running to a tight scehdule or rain (or life) has stopped play. It allows the horse to balance themselves without the weight of the rider and you can see whats happening with those legs. Rachel will be on hand to help you with straightness, rhythm and anthing else these exercises highlight.

If you are concerened about how your horse will cope in a group Rachel is very experienced with the needs of former racehorses and will work with you to make sure your horse settles and has a great experience. Following on from the great response to a recent pole clinic, cake and soft drinks will be provided after you have ridden. Well who doesn't love cake!!
