Series Ri-Dry RoR Racing To Hunting Challenge

To promote the Thoroughbred’s versatility, Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) runs events and series for former racehorses at all levels across a range of equestrian sports. This initiative is designed to recognise the many former racehorses that retire to the hunting field.

Horses must have Competition Membership and riders 15 years old on the 1st of January in the current year.

Overview

The Challenge is open to all horses that have raced in Great Britain (Point-to-Point or Under Rules) and that are registered with RoR Competition Membership. Horses can be registered at any point up to the closing date for entries. To register, simply visit ror.org/register

This hugely popular series will continue for 2019, kindly supported by Ri-Dry, who will be making a generous donation in the latter stages of the challenge. For more information on Ri-Dry visit their website www.ri-dryclothing.co.uk

With a total prize fund of £3,500 to the finalists and winning hunt. The Champion will be presented with their prize at the prestigious annual RoR Awards held at The Jockey Club Rooms in Newmarket, alongside RoR’s Elite Winners from other equestrian disciplines.

Entry is free and close on Tuesday 30th April 2019. The first 50 nominations received will all go forward to the first round of judging.

To enter, download the nomination form below and provide a brief biography of your horse’s career, both Racing and Hunting, as well as photos and / or videos of the horse in the hunting field. You will also need to ask the Master to provide a short reference for your nominated horse

The judging panel will review the 50 nominations based on the submission supplied by the rider and a Master from their respective hunt, to determine a shortlist of entries to be visited in the hunting field at the start of next season.

The final takes place at Aintree on Countryside Raceday on Sunday 27th October 2019, which is supported by the Countryside Alliance.

*Please note that any photos or videos supplied of the horse not in the hunting field will be excluded in the judging stage.*

Previous winners of the Ri-Dry RoR Racing to Hunting Challenge is not eligible to compete in 2019 Challenge.
