Calling all RoR Endurance riders
This year Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) have an exciting opportunity to field an RoR team/s in the Endurance Great Britain (EGB) team Championships.
The team competition has run since 2009 but there has never been a team representing RoR, until now!
Anyone with a former racehorse that is registered with RoR competition membership including un-raced, GB raced and foreign raced horses and registered with EGB as an RoR competitor is eligible to enter
We are looking to enter teams of between three and six combinations to compete in Graded Rides of between 20km and 40km.
There will be a qualifying ride at the EGB event at Cirencester on Sunday 12th July, and if successful, the Team will enter the Team Championship at the British Horse Feeds’ and Golden Paste Company’s Red Dragon Festival of Endurance.
If we have more than six combinations interested in competing in a team, then two or more teams can represent RoR at Cirencester.
No previous experience of endurance is required, we will enter teams of mixed experience/ ability and you can ride as a whole team or in pairs/ threes as you wish. Racehorses who have trained in strings love this way of going and really enjoy the open countryside.
Anna Collins, a past winner of the RoR Elite Performance Award, has kindly agreed to act as Team Coordinator. In order to feel the excitement of team competing, Anna will organise the team/s for the qualifying ride from expressions of interest and will be able to answer any questions in advance and will be there at both events to support you.
If you are interested in joining or forming an RoR team complete and return the form RoR_EGB_Teams_Expression_of_Interest.docx to Anna at anna@endurancegbcheshire.co.uk
More information about the team competition can be found at the dedicated website by clicking here.
If you prefer to continue to compete individually, then we have a special set of classes at the British Horse Feeds’ and Golden Paste Company’s Red Dragon Festival of Endurance over the weekend of 1st and 2nd October this year. Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards are available to the top-performing former racehorses at the Festival, the details of which can be seen by clicking here.
RoR is always interested to hear of other success stories so please email us and send a photograph of your own story.
