RoR BE90 and BE100 Eventing Championships
On Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th of October the RoR BE90 and BE100 Championships kindly hosted by Tweseldown in the South and Askham Bryan in the North, took place.
To qualify, horse and rider combinations needed to have completed within the top 50% of their section with a clear cross-country round and no more than 12 show jumping faults throughout the season and those eligible partnerships then took part in the open section of their class.
With four competitors coming forward for the BE100 Southern Championship class, the sixteen year old gelding Custer of The West, owned by Mrs Prowting and ridden by Harriet Dicken claimed glory with finishing on their dressage score of 29.3. This was the second time Harriet has qualified Custer of The West for the Championship class making it one better than their first attempt in 2018, when the pair finished second.
Oyster Card and Emily Mustow finished in second, whilst Musical Legend and Zoe Gold took third.
The winner of the RoR Northern BE100 Championships was Master Wickham and Claire Lewis who finished on a score of 31.1. Master Wickham is a twelve year old gelding who last raced in January 2015 after a short career over hurdles and chase fences. He was in training with Paul Webber and owned by the Economic Security Partnership, but sadly lacked the racing spirit to make it as a successful racehorse.
Mustang On and Frere Buckland were runners up finishing in second.
The RoR Southern BE90 Championship was won by Color Force and Alix Palmer who finished on their dressage score of 34.3. Alix has owned Color Force for 5 years and has high hopes to move up the levels next year. Finishing in second was Racing Eagle and Tilly Davies whilst Beaney Tunes and Terri Smith took third place.
Pick Of The Day and Michelle Billington were crowned RoR BE90 Northern Champions finishing on a score of 32.3. Second was Mister To Mister and Caitlin Holgale-Davey and third place went to Pageant Master and Laura Hayden.
