On Sunday 4th September, Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) will host its charity cricket day at the picturesque Wormsley Cricket Ground on the private Getty Estate in Buckinghamshire, during which eight teams representing some of the biggest names in the training ranks will compete for the 2022 RoR Racing to Cricket Trophy.
Teams playing under the names of Charlie Hills, Richard Hannon, Ben Pauling, Mick Channon, George Boughey, James Ferguson, Charlie Fellowes, Paul Roy, and last year’s tournament winner Nicky Henderson will provide the day’s cricket entertainment.
Guest will be welcomed on the day with a champagne reception, as well as a sumptuous buffet lunch and traditional cricket tea in The Boundary Room which overlooks the picture-perfect cricket ground. The day also includes an exclusive auction and raffle to raise money for the RoR education activities for former racehorses.
In addition, RoR is delighted to announce a partnership with a new principal sponsor, Irwin Mitchell, for this prestigious fundraising RoR Racing to Cricket day. Irwin Mitchell provide legal and financial advice to both individuals and businesses.
Di Arbuthnot, RoR Chief Executive, said: “We are thrilled to be welcoming Irwin Mitchell as principal sponsors. The success of the day is entirely down to the generosity and support of our sponsors and donors, not to mention the wonderful lots in the auction and prizes in the raffle. This will mean that on the day we will have the chance to raise some valuable funds for the charity’s education activities.”
There are currently a limited number of tickets available. For details of how to attend, donate, or provide auction/raffle prizes and further information about the event click here or email loneill@ror.org.uk.
